Happy New Year to you! I've been meaning to send you an update on C, and also wanted to send along my congratulations to you on building Skilled Kids into the amazing centre that it is today. Wow! I am so impressed with all the programs and staff you've added. I'm sure I wouldn't recognize your gym now. Bravo to you!
As for C, he's in Grade 3 now, and continues to do very well at school.
His handwriting continues to improve, as do his sports and other motor skills. Since seeing you, C has taken soccer, basketball, swimming, skating, ski classes, and karate. He learned lots of new ball skills, and also discovered that he loves skiing and is naturally very good at it.
Life is good for C right now. He's a very happy, resilient child with lots of very good friends; he loves his little brother, and finds joy in so many things, big and small, in his life. He knows he is really good at some things, and he also knows that he can get better at the things he's not so good at. You were one of the important people in his life who showed him that. I still think of you often, and every time feel so grateful to you for helping C as you did. Thank you, once again. :)
[We met] Chris Hadfield at his book signing in November. C was incredibly happy to have had the opportunity to meet this amazing man. He read Commander Hadfield's whole book in a little over two weeks, just in time to bring it to the book signing. He's so inspired now to do something great with his life to help other people, just like Chris Hadfield. One day when he finds that wonderful thing he wants to do, we'll stop and remember his time with you and how it helped him become who he is.

As much as I trusted you, it was hard to believe he’d ever reach the goals we’d set for him. Here we are, and I’m still amazed at the progress he’s made - thanks to you.
You have such a gift with children, being able to see past the difficulties and slowly draw out the potential that is there. We are so fortunate to have had you in C’s life at a time when we really needed the support, hope and guidance.
Although we may not see you again, you will often be in our thoughts each time C beams with pride when he is able to print or draw, throw or kick a ball, or just run around with his friends at school, I will smile and think of you.

Tonight when A was going to bed she started doing the breathing techniques you showed her. I started doing them with her and she said "No Mom, I want to do it by myself." I told her that she could breath that way anytime she needed to feel better, or if she was worried or trying to do something that was hard. Then she said, "Mahshid will be so proud of me!" She really does take in what you tell her, even though I know sometimes it seems like she isn't. Thank you for everything you are doing to help her. We really do both appreciate it very much.
